Bowden Mill, Devon – A small crossflow turbine has been installed by WRE Ltd as part of a largely owner-built hydro project.  The site has a 7m head, 100l/s flow and is grid-connected under the G83 rules at 5.5kW.  For further information, read our PDF case study

River Dart Country Park, Devon – The first grid-connected Archimedean screw turbine in the UK was installed by trio Western Renewable Energy, GP Electronics and Castleford Engineering in 2006 with commissioning in 2007.  See our case study for more info.  PDF case study

Ugbrooke Park, Devon - WRE Ltd has installed a new hydropower system at an existing reservior to produce power from water flow which was previously wasted over the dam spilllway. The system incorporates a crossflow turbine from JLA Spl, the first in the UK, and has been generating since January 2008.  More details of this installation can be found in the following case study. New Mills, Derbyshire – WRE Ltd has installed a community owned Archimedean screw system, capable of generating 63kW.  Following a successful local share issue to help fund the project, WRE began construction in March and commissioned the project at the end of August 2008.  We are proud to document that 60% of the total construction cost was spent in the local area, making it a true community project.  The following case study provides further details.
