"WRE Ltd is working with water power enterprises on a number of low head hydro schemes throughout Yorkshire and Derbyshire. Water power Enterprises has recently received planning permisson for their scheme at New Mills, High Peak, on the river Goyt. Construction is expected to start in earnest in march 2008. The site is approximately 70kW, but has a wide ranbge of challenges in terms of access. More details at the Guardian.

The Archimedean screw turbine at Ashburton, installed in 2006/2007 by western renewable energy, castleford engineering and GP electronics has been shortlisted for two green energy awards, the Devon Enviromental Business Intiative (DEBI Awards) and the Regen South West awards.

WRE Ltd has installed a new system at an existing reservior at Ugbrooke Park, Chudleigh, Devon, to produce power from water flow which was previously wasted over the dam spilllway. The system incorporates a turbine from JLA Spl, the first in the UK and has been generating since January 2008.  More details of this installation can be found here.
